Odessa Oils is a Melbourne-based, family-owned company specialising in the supply of high-quality edible oils across Australia. Since its establishment, the business has quickly grown into a trusted importer and distributor, serving retail, foodservice, hospitality, and industrial markets.
Our product range includes Vegetable Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil, Canola Oil, High-Oleic Sunflower Oil, and a variety of speciality oils suitable for a wide range of culinary and commercial applications.
Through strong partnerships with Tier 1 global suppliers and a commitment to quality, reliability, and competitive pricing, Odessa Oils ensures consistent supply and premium standards for customers throughout Australia.
As a further expansion to our business, and after constant requests from our customers, we are introducing Odessa Waste Oil Collection Services to all retail, food service and commercial clients.
Our History
Joseph Taouk arrived in Melbourne and established Monjay Mezza Sales and Distribution in Victoria. Operating from the Lakeside Reservoir distribution centre, the business focused on sales, marketing, and office administration.
As demand increased, the business expanded its operations by investing in large-scale cool room facilities to support growing storage requirements and improve distribution capabilities.
Odessa oils international purchases of high oleic oils for its family owned Monjay Mezza Sydney operations was launched with its own delivery network reducing reliance on external transport providers and strengthening customer service.
Continued growth saw the customer base extend beyond Victoria into South Australia and Tasmania, establishing a broader presence across Australia. But still operating under the Monjay Mezza business framework.
The parent company proudly reached its first 1,000 customers, marking a significant achievement and reinforcing its reputation within the food industry and hence, Mr Joseph Taouk decided to seperate the oil business from manufacturing and established Odessa Oils.
In search of a reliable supply of High Oleic Sunflower Oil, Joe Taouk travelled overseas and partnered with trusted international producers. This opened the door to supplying premium imported high oleic sunflower oil to businesses across Australia. The success of this venture allowed Odessa Oils to increase its product range in all different types of oils such as Canola, Cottonseed, Olive Oil, Extra Virgin, Pomace and Sunflower.
Recognising the growing demand for quality cooking oils, the Taouk brothers separated the oil division from Monjay Mezza and officially incorporated Odessa Oils Pty Ltd.
Created with a vision to better serve retail, food service, wholesale distribution, and manufacturing sectors, Odessa Oils invested heavily in infrastructure and introduced bottling capabilities for both the Odessa Oils brand and private-label customers.
Operating from its Pascoe Vale office in Melbourne, Odessa Oils continues to expand across Australia, delivering premium cooking oils and innovative packaging solutions while maintaining its commitment to quality, service, and competitive pricing.
